Aspen Recreation Center
The Aspen Recreation Center, also known as the “ARC”, provides a variety of recreational opportunities for people of all ages. Join a pick-up game of hockey, participate in public skate, experience tots and youth art classes, attend youth karate classes, take swim lessons, or just kick back and float for hours in our lazy river.
Enjoy our state-of-the-art fitness center featuring an aerobic studio, a media-enhanced cardio room, and a weight room. Our cardio room includes elliptical trainers, treadmills, several types of stationary bikes, stair climbers, and a rowing machine, each with its own television so you can enjoy your favorite shows while you work out. The weight room includes a wide variety of different resistance machines for toning and strengthening each part of your body.

Aspen Youth Center in the ARC
AYC is dedicated to providing a safe and supportive place where youth in grades 4 through 12 connect, learn, and grow during their out of school hours, for free. Located inside the Aspen Recreation Center building on the top level, for programming, services or inquiries please contact AYC directly and find out more on their website, aspenyouthcenter.org.
Weight Room
Our weight room is located directly across from the Lewis Ice Arena skating rink in the lower level of the ARC. We offer private personal training, group fitness training and specialty programs to meet all of your health goals. The weight room contains an assortment of free weights and machines allowing you to exercise all major areas of the body.
-Membership privileges may be revoked for inappropriate behavior or language, or for abuse of equipment and/or staff.
-Guests must be at least 14 years old to access any of our fitness area including but not limited to the cardio room, fitness studio, or weight room. For patrons between 14 and 17, a wristband must be visible, at all times which will be provided upon check in at the front desk.
-Be courteous to others. Please no yelling, grunting, or loud music that could cause a distraction to other gym goers.
-If you receive a call, please exit the gym area into the lobby or outside to take that call.
-Please keep other phone usage to a minimum. Avoid scrolling, watching videos, emailing, etc, while using equipment.
-Appropriate clothing must be worn at all times. Failure to follow these rules can result in removal from the facility. Appropriate clothing includes but is not limited to:
closed-toed shoes
shirts covering chest/ribcage area/glutes
chose cloths that are clean, comfortable, and rid of offensive odors/stains/language.
-Because of limited space, please keep your workouts to 15 minute maximum for machine/dumbbell usage and 30 minute maximum with the barbell racks during busy periods (3:00pm-7:00pm).
-Report all injuries and/or any equipment concerns to a recreation center employee, supervisor or manager.
-Equipment must be used for its intended purpose only.
-No dropping weights and equipment or allowing weight stacks to slam. This includes dumbbells, barbells, kettlebells and weight stack machines.
-Chalk is not permitted in the building.
-Exercises that cannot be performed safely or pose any risk to others are prohibited.
-Re-rack all weights in their designated area after use.
-Removal of equipment from weight room/fitness area is prohibited.
-If you are performing multiple sets on a piece of equipment, please allow others to work in with you.
-Gum, food, and any beverage other than water is not permitted in the fitness areas.
-Disinfect equipment before and after each use. Wipes and/or disinfectant spray are provided throughout the fitness areas.
Cardio Room
Our cardio room is located directly across from the front desk in the upper level of the ARC. We have elliptical machines, treadmills, spin bikes, two recumbent bikes, a rowing machine, and a stairmaster with spectacular views of Aspen Highlands and Pyramid Peak.
The majority of the machines have a TV screen, with cable television and pre-programmed cardio workouts to suit all your fitness needs.

Iselin Pickleball Courts
There are 4 pickleball courts open year-round, from dawn to dusk, on a first-come first-served basis. Unless there is scheduled programming. Scheduled programming can be found on website (under Sports / Activities) and in the glass case at the courts. No attendant or membership will be available for summer of 2023.
There is no rental equipment available.

Whoa Nelly Sledding Hill
The ARC’s Winter Wonderland is open seasonally & features an epic sledding hill just behind the building. Cost = FREE if you bring your own equipment.
While supplies last we are selling sleds for $20 a piece.
All hours of operation are weather and SNOW dependent! The sledding hill is open from dawn to dusk.
The Aspen Recreation Center’s Winter Wonderland features great outdoor sledding that is perfect for après ski or just an afternoon family outing.
Take a ride on the “Whoa Nelly” Sledding Hill. Grab your friends and hang on to your hats! See who can race down the hill first – winner gets his or her sled carried back up the hill by the other racers!
Batting Cage
The Batting Cage at the Aspen Recreation Center is Open for 2022 Season.

Prior to using the batting cage, customers will have to attend a training session.
Approved users must be 18 years of age or older and must act as the supervisor for their party during the entire reserved time. Up to 10 people per reservation can use the batting cage. Training reservations can be made here: https://www.signupgenius.com/g...
Our batting cage can be set for slow pitch softball and fast pitch baseball. The rental fee includes helmets with facemasks and bats.
Rules:
- Helmets with facemasks must be worn at all times inside the batting cage.
- Only 2 people are allowed in the cage at any time (1 per batter box)
- Only the approved user is allowed to pass the batter's boxes to retrieve stuck balls.
- Reservations for training must be made 24 hours in advance, via the link above.
